I
understand the true meaning of Olympic Values, Olympic Movement and so many
objectives supported, enforced and guided by the Olympic body (IOC), the institution
that demonstrates all humane acceptable characters.
Since
last Olympic Games held in London; Tanzania has had a major national debate
from urban to rural areas and the debates knocked the doors of Tanzania
National Assembly in Daodoma. The media tried its best to get the truth
about “if at all has the National Olympic Committee violated some (if) not
all the rules and Codes of Ethics prohibited by the International Olympic
Committee”.
The
worst thing Tanzanians have witnessed during such nationally televised debates
is that Tanzania Olympic Committee Officials have reacted with extreme anger,
threats and even several times used provocative and offensive comments!!. (Evidence Available),
However; we have discovered that some mid-level government officials and some
members of IOC based in Africa are all covering up for corrupt officials of
Tanzania Olympic Committee. ‘If that’s not the case; why so much silence
from IOC’ while Tanzania continuous to suffer.
I represent a lot of
people who need answers from International Olympic Committee about the
following things:
Is
it true that the (IOC) higher level members are covering up for TOC Secretary General
just because he “is a former world record holder in the Mile and 1500 meters?. Can a
world record be ‘A license to commit a crime”?
According
to the (term) “all forms of conflict of
interests must be avoided”; in IOC Code of Ethics list, what did they (IOC)
mean exactly?!!. Analyze the
following things;
Tanzania
Olympic Team for 2012 London Games stayed at the premises of TOC General Secretary,
he planned his own price and cashed himself. The premises are legally registered
to the Secretary; the same person is also the member of Tanzania Athletics in
which he is voting for himself and has the most influence of having all other
members to vote on his fever. He is also the signatory of TOC, he receives the
check and do whatever he wants ahead of everyone else.
So
if the reasons above are not the meaning of “Conflict of Interests”; then what is the meaning of it!!. “IOC may think that Africans can’t ask or
demand to know their rights from Olympic Solidarity”. This is the beginning
of a wakeup call to IOC, we won’t stop until we see intervention and
condemnation with extreme measures by none other than the International Olympic Committee.
Another
Code of Ethics: “The Olympic Parties
shall guarantee the athlete’s conditions of safety, well-being and medical care
favorable to their physical and mental equilibrium”.
There
was no doctor during training at the Secretary’s premises before London Games;
however they may have fake financial documents as Doctors payments in their
financial records as a cover-up. Athletes did not have enough to eat, as a
result the athlete Musanduku Mohamed got sick soon as he arrived in London
Another Code of Ethics: “The income
and expenditure of the Olympic parties shall be recorded in their accounts,
which must be maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting
principles. An independent auditor will check these accounts”.
It is alleged that the auditing
company for TOC is owned by a member of TOC, no independent Auditor has ever
been allowed to take a look at TOC financial records.
Another Code of Ethics: “The Olympic
resources of the Olympic parties may be used only for Olympic purposes”.
How comes the General
Secretary is able to build his Sports Center BUT not national Center? Did Olympic
Solidarity fever him as an individual over us as a nation? The record indicates
that the Secretary in-acted his Sports Venue just after his first election! Is
that not the question IOC should be concerned about?.
There is of course
the Indian National Olympic Committee’s scandal that they bribed some IOC
members $100,000 ahead of 2010 Commonwealth Games held in India, it may
have been some kind of a ‘bribe’ in return for TOC to vote for them. No straight answer from TOC beside anger and deceptions.
TOC Elections in Dodoma: A prominent government official from Zanzibar was denied
to observe the elections; the official is
a Chairperson of Zanzibar Sports Council representing the Isles. The elections
were held last December in Dodoma Tanzania.
The main Aim: We love all
ideologies of Olympic Movements; we hope that IOC will cover for no one, we
also hope that IOC will take quick and immediate action to investigate and
punish the violators if found guilty. We hope that IOC will come to Tanzania to
hear from us ‘victims’ like FIFA did month’s earlier.
We demand quick and clear answers from
International Olympic Committee
because no society on earth should supports corruption.
